Events for 2013

July 5-7: Unveiling of David Plowden’s, “A Sense of Place” Exhibit at the Appanoose County Historical & Coal Mining Museum. This exhibit, normally shown in larger museums, showcases the work of world-renowned photographer, David Plowden. He photographed these pieces during the 1980’s farm crisis, in locations all over Iowa. This exhibit will be in place in the museum from July 5 through August 22.

August: “A Sense of Place” Exhibit in place until August 22.

September: Museum will be open on Pancake Day from 10 – 4

October 5: Homecoming Open House at the museum, 9-5.Admission is free on this day and popcorn and lemonade will be available outside at Jack's Popcorn stand.

October 26: Haunted History Tour at Oakland Cemetery

November 9: TRIVIA NIGHT! A follow up to the wildly successful Trivia Night in April, the Travelling Trivia Trophy, Albert, will move on to another champion! Admission is $100 per table, teams should be 8-10 people each.
